'Coosheen', situated on the estuary of Cork harbour, houses a unique collection of plants which provide interest and colour from spring to late autumn. Of this remarkable plant collection, snowdrops, hellebores, dactylorhizas, agapanthus, and glorious late-season grasses, hedychiums and salvias are a speciality.

Hester's insatiable appetite for collecting plants makes this a must-see garden for the plant enthusiast. A series of raised beds and troughs are home to rare and unusual smaller perennials, alpines and bulbs.

In a small woodland area, some of the more fashionable woodland plants such as Beesia calthifolia, Saruma henryi, Brunnera 'Looking Glass' and many more create a wonderful tapestry of foliage in the springtime. A clever choice of trees for the smaller garden and a circular lawn give an illusion of space and a magnificent backdrop for the plant collection.
